Today we proudly sent out our second-born into the world! What better way to celebrate all the joy and hard work than with chocolate marshmallow cupcakes. Thank you, Two Lions, for both the treats and for a wonderful experience nurturing our latest book into existence!

Scholastic Reading Club
If you're like me, you vividly remember being at school, getting the thin, paper Scholastic book club brochure, and excitedly circling all the books you wanted to order (and hoped your parents would buy), and then counted the days when those books would arrive. So it's a big treat for me to see You Are (Not) Small featured in these pages.
This fall, I hope a few kids will circle our book and eagerly await its arrival.
Geisel Award Speech
The last weekend of June, Chris and I flew to the glorious city of San Francisco, the weekend of the Gay Pride Parade (just after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage), and we received the 2015 Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal for You Are (Not) Small.
It was, hands down, one of the most unforgettable weekends of my life. As trite as it may sound, those three days truly felt like a dream, from the jet-lagged start to the deeply emotional finish.
